R-Ladies Room for R lovers
Have you always wanted to make your data speak, but never knew how to do that? Now is your moment to shine! If you accept this challenge from R-Ladies, you will be given a dataset and various assignments to carry out by the end of the day, using R. You will not only sharpen your R skills (which, by the way, attract the highest salaries, according to the newest salary surveys), but will also meet a bunch of R lovers, and when R lovers come together, magic happens!
All you will need is a laptop with the latest versions of R and RStudio installed on it.
10:00 - 18:00
FinTech Room for Data Analysts
We are living in an era of advanced technology, where every part of our daily lives is related to the ‘science of craft’ in one way or another, and Banking and Finance is no exception. FinTech is an important field for the global economy going forward. Opportunities are increasing for programmers to get jobs or launch venture capital-funded startups in FinTech if they have the right skills. This datathon will help you develop the right skills for FinTech by making you solve the challenges that financial institutions actually face in the 21st century. This is a must-attend event if you are a developer and want to make a great future for yourself.
10:00 - 18:00
Zalando Room for Data Scientists
Everybody wants to know what people using our product feel, think or do. In other words, everybody wants to get as much as possible from their event data so that they can better use this data while planning their future steps. Facebook duo, Timothy Frohner & Chris Ninnes will challenge you to gain deeper insight and extract the story from a massive event dataset. Will you be brave enough to take up the challenge?
10:00 - 18:00
ML Room for Machine Learning Enthusiasts
Skills are so unevenly distributed among people. Some can train their computers while others can’t even train their kids. Anyway, if you are a Team ML, here is a big challenge for you: make your computer differentiate a brand new car from a vehicle that has been in an accident! Ioseb and Levan, deep learning pioneers in Georgia, will guide you in the process. They promise that by the end of the day, you will be able to even train your computer to generate its own various images of cars. Impressive, isn’t it?
10:00 - 18:00
EU Room for CSO activists
Are you a civil society activist and couldn't exactly see yourself at any of the other datathons? Well, we have a challenge for you too! If you participate in this one, you will be given a list of open source data platforms, based on which you should create your own data story, static or interactive data visualization with the help of our amazing mentors. Try yourself! Sharpen your data communication skills and be one step ahead of all other actors in your field!

10:00 - 18:00
ForSet Room for Data Storytellers
Journalists and data storytellers, this way! At this datathon, participants will come with their datasets and with the help of our mentors, they will analyze and find the story in the data. This might already sound like something exciting for you, but this is not all. Once you are done with your story, it will become one of the first stories published at Eurasian Data Stories, a brand new platform created by ForSet specifically for data lovers from the two continents!
10:00 - 18:00
ForSet Room for Data Visualizers
What are some of the most common adjectives to describe data? Massive? Complex? Boring maybe? But what if we say that data is BEAUTIFUL? If you find this difficult to believe, come and attend this datathon. First you will be given a 2-hour long masterclass on data visualization principles, after which you will have around 6 hours to convert a given dataset - let’s say it, boring numbers - into a beautiful, shiny, engaging visualization either using Adobe Illustrator or online tools.
